Seniors on holiday - opportunity for learning

It is said that once you retire you don't get a holiday (officially that is).

However, as family and friends are often away over the Xmas and New Year, you have a great learning opportunity - no interruptions and plenty of free material on the Internet - and especially on our web site.

Take this opportunity to look in the mass of tutorials on our website by bringing up the Workshop Notes Page  (in the left column of our SeniorNet Wellington website).

Despite the 'holidays' our elves will be adding learning material to the site in this quiet period.

Try the Goodwill Community Foundation  All Topics page for hundreds of free tutorials and videos –e.g try the free Facebook 101 tutorials.

Have you thought of doing some writing over the holidays – if so look at these 18 rules for using text.

Had a look at the best Wellington weather site - Metservice ? Includes also a time based Wellington daily webcam - which if you are a bit clever you can copy and paste to a time lapse slideshow with Faststone, our favourite photo editing programme.

The elves will update the SeniorNet web site regularly over the holiday period.

Seasons greetings to all.

The SeniorNet Wellington Office closed on Friday, 12 December 2014 for the holiday season. It will re-open at 10 am on Monday, 26 January 2015.

Most activities for 2015 will commence from February except that a visitor day will be held at Anvil House on Thursday, 29 January 2015.

An outline of workshop and learning group activities for 2015 is posted on this website in the Year Planner 2015 as listed under the heading of Publications.

More details and information about other activities for 2015 will be posted on this site as scheduled dates draw near.
