Announcing a new 'hands-on' workshop: Fix up Your Archive Photos commencing Thursday 17 November 10 am
Background: This hands-on workshop is to help members improve/correct their archive images using the free GIMP programme.
Workshop numbers: this is to be up to 5 pupils, assisted by at least 2 volunteer tutors.
Location: Anvil House, level 1, Room 11 at SeniorNet.
Number of Workshop sessions: up to 3, weekly (each 2hrs) starting at 10 am on Thurs 17th Nov, Thurs 24th Nov and Thurs 1st Dec.
Cost per session: $10, collected on the day.
Material to bring: bring the digital image(s) you want to work on. These should be on your flash drive. If required, your Artwork can be scanned for you before you start. The cost of the first session will include a CD handout that has all the course material, but it is recommended that pupils come with a hard copy of the GIMP notes ('Using GIMP to restore images') as a hands-on reference during their work. These notes were provided at the earlier GIMP workshops, and can also be downloaded from the SeniorNet web site, and clicking on the ‘Go to the Workshop Notes Page’ and then on ‘GIMP’) Alternatively the notes can be made available at cost (approx $12) at the start of the first session.
