Where:  Anvil House,  Level 1,Meeting Room 2  138 - 140 Wakefield Street, Wellington
What:  Learn how to use your computer to make your own travel arrangements and itineraries.  Find your way around the internet to save yourself money and get what you want.  Reduce your documentation to the essentials and make life easier for yourself, family and friends.
This Workshop deals with most aspects of travel planning from deciding where and when to go, to carrying out your plans for yourself on your computer.  It deals with making timely travel and accommodation arrangements, getting advantageous terms for airlines, ferries, trains, rental vehicles, accommodation, concert and theatre bookings, using the internet and/or direct e-mail for reservations and, time permitting, preparing an itinerary and setting out the results in an Excel spreadsheet.  Other essential matters, such as baggage and packing recommendations, check lists, money requirements after arrival and travel insurance options will be traversed.

Tony Doogue and Trevor King are repeating previous workshops, with some add-ons, to show you how they have used the internet and Excel to plan holidays. If you are planning any travel come along and get some pointers.  Much of the content of the Workshop is readily accessible through the SeniorNet web site at

Please register with Tony Doogue at  and mention any special interest, as prior advice of what you want to know about will help us to help you.
Numbers are limited to the first 25 applicants.

Cost: $5 each, payable on arrival.  Please have correct change.

Digicam (Digital camera) SIG Wednesday 21 April 10.00 am - 12.00 pm

When: Wednesday 21 April 10.00 am - 12.00 pm

Where: Anvil House, Level 1, Meeting Room 2

What: Your opportunity to ask questions, someone will know the answer !

We will also clarify what to look for when purchasing a memory card by visiting two manufacturers web sites, San Disk and Kingston and a look at how to buy these through Trademe and another reliable supplier.

A brief review of NOISE, what is noise, it just won't go away, why. We will look at the relationship of Image Sensor size to noise and how Canon made a mistake and how they fixed the problem. This may help you if you are thinking about buying a camera and why you should go for a large aperature lens for "simply better photography".
