How to install and use Skype, Tuesday 10 November  - 9.45 am to 11.45 am

What: The workshop will look at the Skype program which can be used to make calls (both voice and video) over the internet for free.   How to download the software, install it and get the program up and running so that you can talk to family and friends, as well as see them if you have a web camera, will be demonstrated. 

Please note the changed start time.

Notes will be provided.

The cost of the workshop is $5 payable at the door.

National Library Society's winter lecture series, 'The Changing Face of Modern Publishing'.

Maintenance of your PC Workshop, Tuesday 27 October 10 am - 12 pm

What: The workshop will take you through e.g. a sequence of creating a restore point, backing up, updating, cleaning, optimising and defragmenting your machine.

A disc is available containing the free programmes necessary to manage the above processes.

The cost of the workshop is $5 payable at the workshop. The disc, if required, will be available for an extra $5.

Travel Planning On Your Computer Workshop Part 2 – Tuesday 20 October 2009 from 10 am to 12.30 pm - REMINDER

When:  Tuesday 20 October 2009 from 10 am to 12.30 pm.

Where:  , Anvil House, Level 1, Meeting Room 2 138 - 140 Wakefield Street, Wellington.

Why:  Learn how to make your own travel itineraries.  Reduce your documentation to the essentials and make life easier for yourself, family and friends.  You might even learn how to make your money and yourself go further for longer.

What:  Tony Doogue and Trevor King will supplement their previous workshops in this follow up. First, they will provide the essentials for the understanding of spreadsheets for those who have not used them before.  Secondly, they will focus on the preparation of your personal travel plan in a spreadsheet using - by way of illustration- spreadsheets they have created on their computers when planning holidays and taking advantage of on-line discounts. This Workshop deals with most aspects of travel planning but in particular on actioning your plans for yourself on your computer.  Come along and get assistance in planning your next overseas visit.

Writing & Publishing SIG - Making Small Booklets, Wednesday 14 October 12.30 pm - 2.30 pm

What: There is often a need to create small stapled A5 sized booklets for our smaller projects. This workshop will show several ways of doing this, using the Word programme.

Participants are encouraged to bring their own booklet ideas and questions so that we can all share and evaluate them.
